The Design Discovery Fund (DDF) was established in 2018 through the IIDA Great Plains Chapter sponsorship campaign. This chapter benefit supports members in activities that pertain to education, knowledge, or research within the interior design industry and/or professional development, and which will have a positive value returned to the IIDA Great Plains Chapter design community.
Mission: To strengthen the IIDA Great Plains Chapter community by supporting its members through advanced learning within the interior design industry, and/or professional development.
Ignite a passion for curiosity, lifelong learning and mindfulness.
Empower members in reaching their career interests and goals.
Innovate and educate members through collaboration and leadership.
Applicant must be a current IIDA Great Plains Chapter member in good standing.
Applicant must have been an IIDA member for at least 3 consecutive years.
Eligible activities must pertain to education, knowledge or research within the interior design industry, and/or professional development. Examples of eligible activities include,
but are not limited to:
College - Level Courses
Expertise Workshops and Training
Maker Craft Immersion
Photography, graphic design class
(Note: NCIDQ / LEED exams are not eligible. IIDA Headquarters offers reimbursement for these exams.)
August: Interested applicants will have the opportunity to apply and pitch their ideas. Application date August 5, 2019.
September: Final submissions are due from applicants. Submission date September 6, 2019.
October/November: Chapter Advisory Committee and Chapter Board review, with recipients announced at the Chapter's Fall Signature Event. The Chapter Fall Signature Event, Elevate The Craft, will be held on Oct 4, 2019 in Omaha, NE.
Award recipient(s) must complete the activity within 1 year of receiving the award.
