Omaha CC | Social Media 101 Workshop

  • UNO Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center, Room 127 6400 University Drive South Omaha, NE, 68132 United States (map)

Do you know what those around you are doing on their smart phones? The fact is we are living in a virtual world, along with our (pre)teens, spouses, nieces and nephews where everything we like, post, tweet, snap, follow, send, and comment on will be scrutinized for years to come. This digital footprint will impact the youth in school, sports, relationships, college applications, interviews, and even their future careers and families.

Now more than ever, it is time for us to get smart about technology and social media to avoid the pitfalls of being connected 24/7.

Smart Girl Society's Social Media 101 is a two-hour interactive workshop that is instrumental in educating and inspiring families to have meaningful conversations and to make informed decisions about technology and social media usage.

In this workshop, you will learn about: Instagram, Snapchat, Fortnite, Facebook, Twitter, FOMO, Geotagging, Six-Clicks, digital footprints, COPPA, and more. Thank you to Iske Design Solutions LLC, Momentum Group, and Koroseal for sponsoring.

Wednesday, September 26th at 11:00am-1:00pm *Box lunch will be provided.
