What might we find on your desk right now?
Little knick-knacks like a miniature furry alpaca and a cowboy guy named Carl, a mini white board for people to leave fun messages on, a cactus on a terrazzo disc, coffee, and inspirationalpictures tacked to my workstation.

Who/what sources do you look to for drive and inspiration?
Bouncing ideas back and forth with my colleagues or browsing Pinterest or Education Snapshot are some places I start with for inspiration.

What inspired you to go into your line of work?
Art was always my favorite subject growing up. In High School, I had two influential art teachers I really admired. They helped me explore some of the different creative paths I could take after graduation. After chatting with them about interior design I decided to do a little research of my own and later shadowed an interior designer for an afternoon. It felt like a good fit, and I haven’t looked back since!

What type/niche of design are you most passionate about?
I really enjoy educational design. When I was younger, I spent a lot of time analyzing the schools I went to and their functionality, or how a space made me feel. I think it’s important that students are given a space that makes them feel good and offers them the best opportunities for creativity and growth. It’s really rewarding knowing I have the ability to influence that.

When needing a break from it all what helps you escape?
Lately, audiobooks have been my escape. Often times paired with morning walks with my dog.

What are thelast five songs you’ve listened to?
Deftones – Beware, Oliver Tree – Missyou, Phantogram – Futuristic Casket, Harry Styles – She, and The Moth & TheFlame – Young & Unafraid.
