As part of the Chapter’s ongoing commitment to excellence in interior design, the IIDA Great Plains Chapter invites all IIDA Members in good standing to submit their exceptional projects to the Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) competition each year.

IIDA Great Plains hosts the IDEA Ceremony each Spring to announce the winners, promote interior design, and celebrate the incredible talent across the Chapter.

There are no categories; all projects are judged on the same criteria. Good Design is Good Design, no matter the scale, no matter the sector. IDEA celebrates you and the design profession.

IDEA

On May 6, 2022 IIDA members and friends gathered in Omaha for an entire day of content, embracing the local design community in Omaha’s downtown neighborhoods.

After red carpet arrivals and cocktail hour, the awards ceremony began with host Jenna Ketchen , VP of Omaha City Center and Keynote Speaker, Cheryl Durst, Hon. IDEA Submmission Process

Judging Process

Projects will be judged in three rounds, using the Judgify platform and discussion to determine the final results.

Judging Round 1 Judges will vote “Go” or “No Go” to each project based on the board submission only.

Judging Round 2 Judges will narrow down projects to the top 40% based on the board submission and narratives.

Judging Round 3 Judges will meet virtually to discuss the finalists and select the Project Award winners, Best Moment winner, and Honorable Mention recipients.

Submission Window

In 2022, IIDA GPC implemented a new awards platform, Judgify, to simply the submission and judging processes.

Registration, project submission, and payment will all be done through Judgify. Once registered, Judgify's confirmation email will include the submission template and criteria.

Be on the look out at the beginning of each year for the submission window dates and deadlines. Good Luck!
