Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Develop space plans, furniture layouts, and typicals using industry-standard software (CET Designer, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
- Prepare detailed specifications, finish palettes, and product recommendations for furniture packages.
- Bring designs to life through renderings, visualizations, 3Dmodels, and compelling presentation materials that clearly communicate designintent.
- Articulate design solutions both verbally and visually to clients,sales teams, project managers, and installers.
- Collaborate with sales teams to interpret client needs and develop creative, functional, and cost-effective solutions.
- Participate in client meetings, programming, presentations, anddesign workshops.
- Ensure clarity and accuracy of drawings and specificationsthroughout all phases of the project.
- Support team during order entry,installation, and punch list completion with design-related clarifications.
- Maintain strong knowledge of furniture lines, textiles, and industry trends.
- Conduct site visits for field measurements, verification, and post occupancy needs.
- Serve as a representative of our company within the design community—attending industry events, developing vendor relationships, and participating in professional groups or networking opportunities asappropriate.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-pace denvironment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
- 1–5+ years of experience in commercial interiors, preferably within a commercial furniture dealership or contract furniture setting.
- Proficiency in CET Designer, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design platforms; experience with rendering tools a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of space planning, ADA requirements, building codes, and basic construction concepts.
- Excellent visual, written, and verbal communicationskills, especially in conveying design intent to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- A team-oriented mindset paired with the ability to work independently.
- Professional presence and confidence when engaging in the design community, industry events, or vendor presentations.
